I think the reason that Mr. Mah didn't accept the tractor from Ian was because since the box was probably from China he wanted everything to be from China. I likied the book because it taught a lesson about friendship and it doesn't matter if you're a grownup or a kid you can just be friends. I think that Ian and Mr. Mah shared a special friendship because they get along well and they each have a special box and they like to tell stories about where they came from. They come from different countries and from different cultures. It's fun to learn about their foods and what they do and about their every day lives. I remember when I was in first grade me and Mariana and we became best friends with Mavis and Nataly. We were in a group together studying volcanoes. First we learned about volcanoes and then we learned about how good of friends we became. But Mavis moved to St. Louis and Nataly is still our friend but she is moving to Canada after this year.
